Green Smoothies

Green smoothies are becoming a hit across the country because they’re a great way to eat something that is healthy, tastes great and doesn’t take a really long time to make.

HOW TO MAKE A GREEN SMOOTHIE-

Green smoothies, like any smoothie have a variety of recipes to choose from. One of my favorites is the grapefruit cilantro booster.

Recipe-

2 ¾ cups water/ice

2 cups cilantro

10 dates pitted

Spinach, added until mixture reaches 6 cup line

½ tsp. of ground cinnamon

1 large pink grape fruit (peeled)

1 pear

2 bananas frozen in chunks

¼ lime unpeeled

2 cups frozen mixed berries

Now that’s just one to get us started off. There are a number of great books with some great green smoothie recipes. The recipe above came from The Green Smoothies Diet a great book about the health and nutrition in green smoothies.

If you’re looking for more recipes on green smoothies to try we have tons of them.

WHY GO GREEN

The number one reason why people don’t eat healthy is because they say they don’t have the time. Let’s face it, when given the choice of popping something in the microwave for thirty seconds or making a fresh meal, although many of us may even prefer the fresh meal we just don’t have the time to make it.

The convenience of the microwave and other junk foods in general has just made eating right a tougher thing for many of us to do.

And that’s the big reason why so many people are turning to smoothies for nutritional diets. They’re quick, easy and usually the only things you have to clean are the blender and the cup you drank out of.

Green smoothies in particular have proven to be extremely popular because they’re a great source of raw greens. Now you get your greens on the go and with the right recipes they’ll be good for you and taste good.
